BMW X5 is available with a 2,998cc six-cylinder turbo-petrol engine and a 2,993cc six-cylinder turbo-diesel engine. The petrol engine produces around 375 bhp and 520 Nm, while the diesel engine develops around 282 bhp and 650 Nm. Both engines are paired with an 8-speed Steptronic automatic transmission and xDrive all-wheel drive.
The petrol-powered X5 xDrive40i can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in around 5.5 seconds, while the diesel version takes around 6.1 seconds. The SUV can achieve a claimed top speed of up to 243 kmph.
Mileage and Fuel Tank
BMW X5 has an ARAI-certified mileage of around 12 kmpl for both petrol and diesel versions. The diesel variant gets an 83-litre fuel tank, making it suitable for long-distance highway travel.
