Volkswagen India is getting ready to refresh its popular compact SUV. The updated Taigun has been spotted testing multiple times, and its launch is expected in April 2026. With the Skoda Kushaq facelift already here, the Taigun's arrival is just around the corner.

Taigun Exterior Changes

The facelifted Volkswagen Taigun gets a noticeably sharper look. The front end features a sleeker grille with new LED headlamps. A thin LED strip now connects the headlamps. Volkswagen has also added an illuminated logo at the front for a premium touch. The bumper has been revised for a cleaner appearance.

Changes At The Rear

The rear has been updated too. The taillamps get a new look. There is likely a thicker full-width LED strip connecting them. An illuminated red Volkswagen badge is also expected. The rear bumper is simpler now, with vertical reflectors replacing the horizontal ones.

Side Profile

The side profile remains largely unchanged. However, the facelift may introduce new alloy wheel designs. Other elements like roof rails, body-coloured mirrors, and blacked-out B-pillars will continue from the current model.

Interior Changes

The cabin layout stays similar but gains new features. These could include a panoramic sunroof and rear-seat massage function. A fully digital instrument cluster is likely. The infotainment system may get AI-based integration for smarter functionality.

What Features Will Volkswagen Taigun Offer?

The feature list is expected to be generous. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto will be there. You can expect a wireless charger, automatic climate control, and leatherette seats. Front seats may get electric adjustment with ventilation. Safety features include six airbags, all-wheel disc brakes, and a reverse camera.

Powertrain Changes

There is a significant update under the hood. The 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine will now get a new 8-speed torque converter automatic. This replaces the older 6-speed unit. The new gearbox promises smoother shifts and better fuel efficiency. The 1.5-litre engine will continue with the 7-speed DSG.

Engine Specs

The 1.0-litre, three-cylinder turbo-petrol produces 115 bhp and 175 Nm of torque. The 1.5-litre, four-cylinder turbo-petrol makes 150 bhp and 250 Nm. Both engines carry over from the current model.
