Toyota Innova Hycross Achieves Highest 5-Star Safety Ratings by Bharat NCAP

Toyota's MPV, the Innova Hycross, has achieved the highest 5-star safety award for being tested by Bharat NCAP. It is the first hybrid vehicle and Toyota MPV to be tested. The outcome shows how Toyota is making extra efforts to create safer vehicles in India.

The Innova Hycross achieved impressive ratings - 30.47 points out of a maximum 32 for adult protection and 45 out of a maximum 49 for child protection. In front crashes, the vehicle performed well to protect the head and legs of front-seat occupants, while chest protection was found to be satisfactory. The vehicle also performed well in side collision tests, earning ideal scores when struck on the side and adequate protection when struck by a pole.

The vehicle's protection of children was also noteworthy. It earned perfect scores for safeguarding child seats in crashes and high grades for ease of installing child seats correctly.

The Toyota Innova Hycross is built on Toyota's TNGA-C platform, shared by numerous Toyota vehicles across the globe. The vehicle has a robust body and features crucial safety features such as six airbags, electronic stability control, ISOFIX child seat mounts, and seatbelt reminders for all three rows. The top-end ZX(O) variant also features cutting-edge safety technology such as cruise control that adapts speed automatically, assists in lane keeping, and sensors that monitor blind spots.

This 5-star rating by Bharat NCAP is unique in that the Innova Hycross is the first vehicle of Toyota to be tested by this Indian program. It is also the first MPV and first hybrid vehicle in India to achieve the highest rating since Bharat NCAP began in 2023.

Toyota markets the Hycross in two forms. The standard petrol one uses a 2.0-litre engine, and the hybrid one adds an electric motor to the same engine for fuel efficiency and better performance. The vehicle is available with either 7 or 8 seats and is designed for families seeking convenience, room, and now tested safety.

The price of the Toyota Innova Hycross ranges from ₹19.77 lakh to ₹30.98 lakh (excluding taxes and registration). With this 5-star safety rating, the Hycross is an even better option for customers searching for a premium and secure family car in India.
