Tata Harrier EV RWD Launches at ₹21.49 Lakh In India- Bookings Open July 2

Tata Motors has officially announced the pricing for the rear-wheel-drive (RWD) variants of its highly anticipated electric SUV, the Harrier EV. The RWD lineup is priced between ₹21.49 lakh and ₹27.49 lakh (ex-showroom), with bookings set to begin across India on July 2. The company will reveal prices for the upcoming dual-motor, all-wheel-drive (QWD) variants on June 27.

Pricing and Variants

The Harrier EV RWD range includes five trims:

  • Adventure 65 - ₹21.49 lakh

  • Adventure S 65 - ₹21.99 lakh

  • Fearless+ 65 - ₹23.99 lakh

  • Fearless+ 75 - ₹24.99 lakh

  • Empowered 75 - ₹27.49 lakh

These introductory prices apply to models equipped with a 7.2 kW AC home charger. Fast charger and installation costs are separate.

Powertrain and Range

The Harrier EV is offered in two battery configurations using lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cells: a 65 kWh pack and a 75 kWh pack. The 65 kWh variant delivers an MIDC-certified range of up to 538 km, while the 75 kWh RWD version claims a range of up to 627 km. Real-world (C75 test cycle) driving estimates are approximately 420 - 445 km and 480 - 505 km, respectively.

The upcoming QWD variant, which features a dual-motor layout, is expected to offer 313 hp and 504 Nm of torque, accelerating from 0 -100 km/h in just 6.3 seconds. The model also supports fast charging, adding up to 250 km of range in just 15 minutes.

Off-Road Capabilities

Built on Tata's new acti. EV+ architecture, the Harrier EV includes a host of features aimed at enhancing both urban drivability and off-road performance. The SUV is equipped with Ultra Glide multi-link rear suspension and frequency-selective dampers for added ride comfort.

There are six terrain modes: Normal, Snow, Mud/Ruts, Sand, Rock, and Custom. The vehicle also features Off-road Assist, enabling low-speed cruise control from 5 km/h and a “transparent mode” that displays the terrain beneath the vehicle.

Technology and Features

The Harrier EV RWD comes loaded with technology enhancements:

  • A 14.5-inch Samsung Neo QLED infotainment touchscreen

  • 10.25-inch fully digital driver display

  • 540° surround-view camera

  • JBL 10-speaker Dolby Atmos audio system

  • OTA software updates through Tata’s new TiDAL architecture

  • V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) and V2V (Vehicle-to-Vehicle) power sharing capability

  • Powered, ventilated front seats, panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, digital rearview mirror, and auto-park assist

These features make the Harrier EV one of the most tech-loaded offerings in the midsize SUV segment.

Safety and Driver Assistance

Tata Harrier EV RWD Bharat NCAP Test

The Harrier EV has received a 5-star safety rating in the Bharat NCAP crash tests, scoring 32/32 for adult protection and 45/49 for child occupant protection. Safety features include:

  • 6 airbags as standard (7 on higher trims)

  • Electronic Stability Control (ESC)

  • Electronic parking brake with auto hold

  • Blind-spot monitoring and tyre pressure monitoring

  • ISOFIX child seat mounts

  • Dashcam and 360° camera integration

The Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) suite includes adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, automatic emergency braking (AEB), forward collision warning, lane departure warning, and rear cross-traffic alert.

Strategic Positioning

By the Harrier EV, Tata Motors aims at clients in search of a premium-feature electric SUV with impressive performance and higher safety features at a fairly reasonable price. The launch price range pits it squarely against both ICE midsize SUVs and electric competitors like the BYD Atto 3, MG ZS EV, and Mahindra's soon-to-be-launched XUV.e9 and BE.6.

Tata is also including a lifetime battery warranty with the Harrier EV, the first in Indian EV history, marking long-term faith in its battery technology.

What’s Next

The Harrier EV RWD variants will be available for booking from July 2, with deliveries expected to commence shortly after. The pricing and specifications for the QWD trims will be revealed on June 27. With this launch, Tata Motors is setting a new benchmark for feature-rich, performance-driven electric SUVs in the Indian market.
