Hyundai is coming with a game-changing option for the new Venue 2025. For the first time, you will be able to get it with a diesel-automatic powertrain.
What Exactly is the New Option?
The new Venue will use a proven combination. It pairs the familiar 1.5-litre turbo-diesel engine with a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. This is the same smooth-shifting gearbox used in its cousin, the Kia Sonet. This move makes the Venue a much more compelling option for a specific group of buyers.
Why Does a Diesel-Automatic Matter in New Hyundai Venue?
This is all about perfect timing. Recent GST cuts have made diesel cars significantly more affordable. The price gap between petrol and diesel variants has shrunk. This means you don't need to drive as many kilometres to justify the initial cost of a diesel engine. It makes financial sense for more people.

This is a fantastic option, but it is not perfect for everyone. The torque converter automatic is super smooth and reliable. However, it can be less efficient in heavy, stop-and-go city traffic. The Venue now properly fights rivals like the Tata Nexon and Mahindra XUV 3XO. These SUVs also offer a diesel-automatic. But there is a key difference. The Nexon and XUV 3XO use an AMT automatic. The Venue's torque converter will offer much smoother and more refined gear shifts. This gives it a clear comfort advantage.
