Nissan Gravite 7-Seater MPV Launched at Rs 5.65 Lakh
A new 7-seater MPV for just Rs 5.65 lakh sounds too good to be true. But there's one catch about its performance that you need to know before buying.

Nissan has launched a new seven-seater MPV in India. The Nissan Gravite is priced from just ₹5.65 lakh (ex-showroom). It is based on the Renault Triber. The Gravite gets unique styling inside and out to give it its own identity.

Exterior Design
The Gravite shares its silhouette with the Triber. However, Nissan has added its own design touches. The front gets a bold honeycomb grille. 'GRAVITE' lettering sits proudly on the bonnet.
Slim LED DRLs are connected by a chrome strip. The rear gets wraparound LED tail lamps with a connecting chrome strip. C-shaped silver accents feature on both bumpers. The MPV rides on 15-inch stylised steel wheels.
Five colour options are available. These include Forest Green, Onyx Black, and Storm White.
Interior and Features
The dashboard layout is clean and familiar. It uses a dual-tone black and beige theme. An 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system sits in the centre. It supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A 7-inch digital driver's display is offered. Manual AC with three-row vents ensures cabin comfort.
Eight AC vents in total keep all passengers cool. A wireless phone charger is available. The Launch Edition adds extra goodies. These include a dual dashcam, JBL speakers, and ambient lighting.
Safety Kit
Safety is a strong point. Six airbags are standard across all variants. Electronic stability control and hill start assist are included. Traction control and ABS with EBD are standard. Rear parking sensors with a camera are offered. A tyre pressure monitoring system is also available.
Nissan Gravite Powertrain
Power comes from a 1-litre three-cylinder petrol engine. It produces 72 PS and 96 Nm of torque.
Two transmission choices are available. These are a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT. Fuel efficiency is claimed at 19.3 kmpl for the manual. The AMT returns a slightly higher 19.6 kmpl.
A Question of Power
The Gravite's price is incredibly tempting. But its 72 PS engine raises a practical concern. Will it feel adequate with seven people on board? The engine might struggle on highways with a full load.
The Nissan Gravite is a compelling value proposition. It offers seven seats and strong safety at a hatchback price.
If your driving is mostly city-based, it makes strong sense. Just be realistic about its highway performance with a full family.
