Nissan Showcases Elgrand, Ariya, SUV at Japan Mobility Show 2025

Nissan just unveiled its future at the Japan Mobility Show 2025. The stars were a new family-friendly Elgrand, a smarter Ariya EV, and the triumphant return of the Patrol SUV.

New Elgrand in Japan Mobility Show 2025

This is a complete redesign. The new Elgrand is not just another minivan. It's a tech flagship for families.

It gets Nissan's third-generation e-POWER system. This means better fuel efficiency and smoother electric-driven power. It also features the latest e-4ORCE all-wheel drive. This system promises sharper handling and superior stability on any road.

The biggest comfort upgrade is the new ProPilot. It now allows for hands-off driving under 50 km/h. Imagine a relaxing, less stressful commute in heavy traffic. The cabin is also designed as a quiet, comfortable space for every journey.

Look for it to arrive in summer 2026.

The Refreshed Ariya EV

The Ariya is getting a timely update. The most welcome change is the new infotainment system. It is now powered by built-in Google. This means you get seamless Google Maps, Assistant, and the Play Store right on your dashboard. No more clumsy phone mirroring.

It also adds Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality. You can now use your Ariya's battery to power gadgets. Think of camping trips, tailgating, or even emergency power for your home.

This update directly addresses a key weakness of the original model. It makes the Ariya a much smarter and more useful electric vehicle.

The updated model is scheduled to arrive later this fiscal year.

The Patrol's SUV Grand Return

The iconic Patrol SUV is officially coming back to Japan. This is huge news for SUV enthusiasts. Nissan left the large SUV segment in the country years ago.

The Patrol will serve as the new flagship. It promises a classic blend of brutal capability and premium luxury. It is for buyers who want a powerful, go-anywhere vehicle without sacrificing comfort.

Its return signals Nissan's commitment to its heritage. It shows they haven't forgotten their roots of building tough, adventurous vehicles.

You will have to wait a bit, though. The Patrol lands in Japan in the first half of fiscal 2027.
