Honda City Sport Edition Rolled Out in India at ₹14.89 Lakh
Honda has launched a special Sport Edition of the City sedan with bold styling updates and a sporty cabin, priced at ₹14.89 lakh (ex-showroom).

Honda Cars India has introduced a fresh special edition of its best-selling mid-size sedan, the Honda City. Named as Honda City Sport Edition, the new variant is available at ₹14.89 lakh (ex-showroom) and can be availed in all parts of India. The new edition is built on the V CVT petrol model and carries cosmetic changes, while all the other mechanical components and engine are identical to the regular model.
The primary intention of this latest edition is to provide a sportier appearance to appeal to young customers who desire a vehicle that has fashionable characteristics without necessarily requiring higher performance. The firm has incorporated a number of additional design features in the exterior as well as the interior of the vehicle to present it with a new and sporty face.
Exteriors of the Honda City Sport Edition receive a glossy black finish on the front grille, door mirrors, and shark fin antenna. A gloss black sporty rear spoiler is also included, which bestows a more aggressive appearance to the vehicle. Alloy wheels are now available in a metallic grey finish. Another visible update is the 'Sport' badge on the boot lid, which makes this special edition quite distinguishable. Customers have three color choices: Radiant Red Metallic, Platinum White Pearl, and Meteoroid Gray Metallic.
Within the cabin, the vehicle now boasts an all-black interior aesthetic, replacing the standard dual-tone look of the regular model. Red highlights on the dashboard and red stitching of leatherette seat coverings contribute to the sportsy feel. Ambient lighting has also been added by the brand for an additional feel to the overall cabin during nighttime driving.
Despite being a special edition, the Honda City Sport Edition continues to offer all the standard features available in the regular V CVT variant. This includes an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a four-speaker audio system, automatic climate control, and a dual-pod instrument cluster with a multi-information display. The vehicle also features Honda's advanced driver assistance system (ADAS), such as its safety technologies including lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, and collision mitigation braking.
Nothing changes under the bonnet. The same 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol engine that produces 119 bhp of power and 145 Nm of torque powers the City Sport Edition. There is no option other than a 7-step CVT (automatic) gearbox. The ARAI-tested fuel economy stays at 18.4 km/l.
Honda is launching this special edition at a time when competition in the sedan space is increasing with fashionable competitors such as the Hyundai Verna, Volkswagen Virtus, and Skoda Slavia. The City Sport Edition's price point of ₹14.89 lakh delivers a decent balance of style and features without pricing itself out.

As per the company, this new edition is aimed at increasing the popularity of the Honda City among younger and fashion-aware buyers. Though it has no performance improvements, the cosmetic updates give it a unique look on the road. Honda wishes that the special edition would increase the interest in the City model lineup and generate more traffic at dealerships.
