Ferrari Elettrica: Launch Date, Features, and What to Expect

Ferrari is entering the electric vehicle (EV) space with its first all-electric car, the Elettrica. The car is set to launch in October 2026. The announcement was made by CEO Benedetto Vigna, confirming that customer deliveries will begin in the last quarter of 2026. Ferrari’s long-anticipated shift toward electrification is now a reality, marking a bold step for the iconic Italian automaker known for its roaring V12s and racing legacy.

The first technical showcase of the Elettrica is scheduled for October 9, 2025, during Ferrari’s Capital Markets Day. This is when the company will reveal the core technological components of the electric supercar. The Elettrica will be developed in Ferrari’s newly inaugurated e-building in Maranello, a facility designed to support flexible production lines and ensure that electric, hybrid, and internal combustion engine vehicles are all handcrafted with equal precision and quality.

Chairman John Elkann has said, "The time we have taken has been crucial to deliver a car that's truly Ferrari." The company pointed out that this creation has been years in the making, with learning garnered from Ferrari's know-how in Formula One and its hybrids. As of 2024, hybrid cars represented 51% of Ferrari's global shipments, highlighting the brand's increasing know-how in marrying performance with electrification.

Ferrari has also teased out-of-the-box innovations in the Elettrica, such as a sound reproduction system that will replicate the legendary engine sounds to which the brand's fans have become accustomed. While competitors such as Lamborghini are pushing their electric-vehicle rollouts back to 2029, the timing puts Ferrari ahead in the competition for electrified performance luxury. "We are launching our first BEV in 2025," Vigna stated last spring. "And that car will be a real Ferrari." With a 15% increase in core earnings in the first quarter of 2025 and solid order books, Ferrari looks poised to drive into an electric future without sacrificing its soul.
