BMW India Announces 2 Percent Price Hike From 1 July 2026

BMW's upcoming 2% price hike sounds small, but on some models it could add more than ₹5 lakh to the bill.

BMW India Announces 2 Percent Price Hike From 1 July 2026

BMW India has announced a 2% price price hike on June 8. The company blames a weakening rupee and rising logistics costs. CEO Hardeep Singh Brar framed it as protecting premium standards against macroeconomic headwinds.

The hike covers every BMW car. Locally built cars like the 3 Series LWB, 5 Series LWB and X1. Imported models like the M4, M5 and i7, plus the i7 and XM. MINI's Cooper and Countryman range too. Model-wise prices come closer to the date, so the figure for some other variant could come below 2%.

What BMW's July 2026 Price Hike Actually Costs You

Here's where 2% stops feeling small. On the cheapest BMW, the ₹45.80 lakh 2 Series Gran Coupe, that's roughly ₹92,000 more. On the ₹50.90 lakh X1, about ₹1 lakh. On the 3 Series LWB, close to ₹1.2 lakh. And on a fully loaded BWM i7 near ₹2.58 crore, the hike alone crosses ₹5 lakh.

That's ex-showroom. Add road tax and insurance, and the on-road gap grows wider still.

Second BMW India Price Hike in One Year

This year in March, BMW announced a price hike of up to 2%, effective April 1. July brings up to 2% more. This is BMW's second price increase in 2026.

BMW sold a record 18,001 cars in India in 2025, so demand isn't the problem here. Costs are.

So if you've been circling a BMW since spring, you haven't been waiting at a flat price. You've been watching it climb twice. On that ₹50 lakh X1, the two rounds together add up to around ₹2 lakh. On the i7, north of ₹10 lakh. Waiting has a cost, and it keeps rising.

And BMW isn't alone. Mercedes-Benz has said it plans to raise prices every quarter in 2026. So this likely won't be the last hike you read about this year.

Should You Book Your BMW Before 1 July 2026?

If your decision is already made, booking in June gets you the current price. Ask your dealer one thing directly: will an existing booking be billed at today's price or the revised one? Get that in writing before you pay the booking amount.

Eyeing a MINI? The 2026 Countryman C lands on June 17, just before the hike. Time it right and you save twice.

The model-wise list drops closer to 1 July. Watch for your variant's real number, because "up to 2%" is a ceiling, not a promise. On a BMW, even the rounding error costs more than a family hatchback.
