Tata Sierra Spied Testing Again With Three-Screen Dashboard: Launch Coming Soon

The highly awaited Tata Sierra has been caught testing once more, showing new design changes and cabin features before its expected launch this year. The test car, covered in heavy camouflage, was spotted on Indian roads in June 2025. Test photos show that both petrol and electric versions are being tested in their final stages.

The new spied Sierra brings back the famous name, which was first shown as a concept at the Auto Expo 2020 and later improved into an almost ready-to-sell model. With this latest spotting, Tata Motors appears ready to launch a high-tech SUV with modern looks and top-class features.

Spotted on Indian Roads with Premium Styling

The covered test car was spotted in June 2025 around Pune and Mumbai, showing that real-world testing is going strong. Earlier test photos were taken in February and May this year. The car keeps a bold, tall look with design hints from the old Sierra, including a box-like shape and square wheel arches.

Looking at the outside, the Sierra (as captured in the spyshot) has a connected LED rear light strip, vertical LED headlights, flat door handles, and big multi-spoke alloy wheels. The electric model also has a closed front grille and charging port cover, while the petrol version will likely have a regular grille with front air openings.

Both models have a strong road presence, made better by a high hood line and thick body cladding. The test car had steel wheels, but the final versions will likely have 18-inch or 19-inch alloy wheels.

Three-Screen Dashboard, Safety Features, and Modern Technology

The most significant change noticed in the new test spyshots is the inside. For the first time ever, the cabin of the Tata Sierra got the spy shots in good light, and it revealed a new three-screen dashboard arrangement. It consists of a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster for the driver, a middle screen for infotainment and maps, and a third screen on the passenger side for entertainment and media.

This three-screen layout brings the Sierra to the same platform as luxury SUVs and aligns with Tata's new emphasis on technology. The dashboard also features mood lighting, wireless charging of phones, two-tone seat covers, and a four-spoke illuminated steering wheel similar to that of the Tata Harrier EV.

Advanced safety technologies are also anticipated, such as smart cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and emergency braking. Other upscale features are cooled seats, a 360-degree camera, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and a large sunroof.

For the motor, the petrol Sierra will feature a 1.5-liter turbo engine and possibly a 2.0-liter diesel engine from Stellantis with manual or automatic transmission. The electric model can be expected to feature a 45-55 kWh battery with around 500-550 km range. A dual-motor all-wheel-drive variant might be offered on higher grades.

Launch Timeline and Expected Cost

The Tata Sierra EV is expected to launch by late 2025, with the petrol version following after. The electric model will likely cost between ₹25 lakh to ₹30 lakh (before taxes), while the petrol version is expected to start from ₹17 lakh, depending on engine and features.

With testing almost done and features now visible, the Tata Sierra aims to enter the mid-size SUV market with a strong retro-modern look and focus on technology. The SUV will likely compete with cars like the Hyundai Creta EV, Mahindra BE.05, and MG Hector in the premium segment.
