In a small, stylish package, Mini has just launched the much-anticipated, fire breathing Countryman John Cooper Works (JCW) in India, with a price tag of Rs 64.90 lakh (ex-showroom). This isn't just another trim; it's the full-fat, performance-focused SUV that promises to turn every drive into an event.
What’s New the Countryman JCW Bringing?
For starters, this is the first petrol-powered version of the new, larger Countryman to hit Indian roads. Until now, we only had the all-electric Countryman E. The JCW variant swaps the silent electric motor for a roaring, traditional heart and it’s a masterpiece.
A 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that churns out a massive 296 bhp and 400 Nm of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels through a slick 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
The result? This Mini can sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in a blistering 5.4 seconds. It’s not just about city charm anymore; this is serious performance.
What Sets Mini Countryman JCW Apart?
You’ll know this is the top dog at a glance. The Mini Countryman JCW builds on the standard car's design but adds a serious dose of aggression. Look for the sportier front and rear bumpers, the menacing quad exhaust tips and signature red highlights that scream John Cooper Works. It rides on unique alloy wheels that complete the racy stance.
Mini is offering it in three classic yet bold colour schemes:
-
Midnight Black with a Red roof and racing stripes,
-
Legend Grey with a Red roof and stripes,
-
The timeless British Racing Green with a Black roof.
