Mahindra just hit a major electric vehicle milestone. They have sold over 30,000 units of the XUV 9e and BE 6 electric SUVs.
This impressive number was achieved in just seven months. It proves Indian buyers are ready for homegrown premium electric cars.
A Strong Start for a New EV Era of Mahindra
The Mahindra XUV 9e and BE 6 launched a new chapter for the brand.
Deliveries for these SUVs only began in March 2025. Crucially, Mahindra started by delivering only the top-end 'Pack Three' variants first.
This strategy is key. It means early customers were willing to pay a premium price. The XUV 9e costs between Rs 21.90 lakh and Rs 30.50 lakh. The BE 6 sits between Rs 18.90 lakh and Rs 26.90 lakh (ex-showroom).
Selling 30,000 units at this price point is a significant achievement.
Why Are Mahindra EVs So Popular?
The XUV 9e and BE 6 broke the mold with their design.
They feature a sleek coupe-SUV shape. This helps them stand out in a sea of boxy SUVs. The BE 6 has a radical, futuristic look. The XUV 9e offers a more subtle take on the same theme.
Their interiors are just as bold. The BE 6 has a fighter-jet inspired cockpit. The XUV 9e features a luxurious triple-screen dashboard.
They don't just look good. They are also incredibly safe. Both SUVs scored a perfect 5-star rating in the Bharat NCAP crash tests.
Packed with Premium Tech
Both SUVs are loaded with high-end features.
They come with massive 12.3-inch screens and an augmented reality head-up display. You also get a panoramic glass roof and a 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system.
Comfort is top-notch with ventilated seats and multi-zone AC. Safety is covered by up to 7 airbags and Level 2 ADAS.
The Power and The Range
Mahindra offers two battery options for both SUVs.
You can choose a 59 kWh pack or a larger 79 kWh pack. The bigger battery delivers an impressive claimed range of over 650 km.
Power outputs are strong too. The larger battery produces a healthy 286 PS. Both SUVs are rear-wheel drive, which adds to the driving fun.
The Road Ahead is Electric
Reaching 30,000 units so quickly is a massive vote of confidence. It shows Mahindra's bold design and tech-focused approach is working.
The brand is already capitalizing on this momentum. Its next electric SUV, the XUV 9S, will debut on November 27.
The electric revolution in India is officially in high gear.
